Ep# 121: How to Create a Winning Website that Converts Clicks into Cash with Jessica Zimmerman

Sometimes we create a website and assume that if we build it, they will come…

Jessica Zimmerman

News flash… they ain’t comin.

UNLESS you optimize that site to work for you! And I’m not just talking about SEO or even tech strategies that are going to make your brain explode. I’m talking about knowing where your energy is best spent when it comes to creating (or tweaking) your website so it ultimately leads to MORE CONVERSIONS. Yes, that’s right, more people actually buying.

This is exactly what Jessica Zimmerman and I are chatting about in this episode. She has an amazing story on top of bringing some great how to’s when it comes to your site!

This woman survived a car crash as a little girl that took someone near and dear to her, raised 3 babies as she navigated an unexpected illness with her husband and went on to grow her once zero-profit events company into a thriving 7-figure business.

Maybe you’ve seen her featured in People, Business Insider, Entrepreneur or Forbes, or maybe you’re just dying to hear more…

Let’s get to the show!

In this episode we chat about:

Taking care of our mind, body, and soul

Our mind, body, and soul are interconnected. When we fail to take care of one, the others suffer. When Jessica began working 4-5 hours/day, rather than the all-day grind she was putting in at the start of her business, she found the time to prioritize taking care of her body and soul. In return, her mind felt sharp and her business flourished. She is able to get more accomplished in the small amount of time she does spend working than she ever did when she was working all day, every day. And when you become a master at efficiency, your business scales.

Your website is an employee

Your website should be like an employee who is working for you 24/7. But in order to actually see results, you need to be utilizing this space the right way.

When someone lands on your site, they want to know: Who is this person? Can I trust them? Have they worked with others? How do I contact them? Everything has to be super clear.

It takes time to set up a website the right way. Most entrepreneurs spend more time on their social media posts than on their website, and that’s crazy! Your website is the only platform that YOU own. Social media is a tool to get people to your website.

Your website is a foundational piece of your business. You will never be able to grow and scale without a proper online presence.

The do’s and don’ts of a website that converts:

  • Do stick to 2-3 fonts and make sure they’re easy to read

  • Don’t look at other websites from your industry! You’ll start to look the same. It’s a good thing to be unique.

  • Do showcase your credibility: logos from places you’ve been featured (if you have!), testimonials from previous clients,

  • Do include a picture of you

  • Do invite them to subscribe to your email list

  • Do include a contact form to make it simple for someone to get in touch

  • Do keep your website up to date
