Ep# 133: The Power of Storytelling in Branding + Business with Celinne Da Costa

Celinne Da Costa

This interview is coming in all the way from Bali! Not me, unfortunately, but our amazing guest, storytelling strategist Celinne Da Costa.

I’m obsessed with the power of story, and Celinne takes this to the next level. I had to have her on the show to talk about how to cultivate and step into your most authentic personal and brand story to grow your business.

You don’t have to have a crazy and elaborate life to have a power story to share that will resonate with your people.

Today is the day to listen in and take some notes. This episode is going to change the game for your business.

In this episode, we chat about:

Unearthing your power + authenticity

  • Where are you trying to take people with your story? Your story is bigger than you.

  • What are your values? What are your non-negotiables? What lessons do you want to teach others when you share your story?

Your story is just words unless you can create a feeling and make a connection with your audience. Build the story with the energy you want people to feel. Even if you mess up on your words, people will feel your energy and that’s what people will remember.

What if you don’t think you have a story to tell?

That is a big fat limiting belief and a way that we like to keep ourselves small.

Your journey is unique and you get to be the voice for others who have had a story like yours. No matter where you come from or what your story is, you can always find an angle to pop out against the crowd. You have to see yourself as the person who can be this leader.

Steps to storytelling with impact

  1. Get clear on your Why.

  2. Understand your goal: are you trying to build your visibility? Grow your income? Launch a program? Pick a focus.

  3. Reverse engineer from there.

Why is storytelling so powerful for businesses?

Society is so digital and automated. Businesses are becoming faceless entities that just pump out content and bombard us with sales. Storytelling is one of the very few things on the planet that we cannot outsource. Storytelling is wired in our DNA.

Stories are 20 times more memorable than facts. We can capture our audience's attention and feelings through this. When someone connects with your story, they become loyal followers who know, like, and trust you.
