Ep# 165: How to Plan + Prep for a Retreat Experience
I’m just coming off of an incredible in-person retreat that I hosted for my Maverick Mastermind down in Arizona.
Our team has received a lot of questions about the planning process for an event like this, so today’s episode is letting you behind the scenes of the prep work and strategy behind putting together a retreat experience!
I’ll walk you through:
how we track everything
who does what
Budgeting
what you need and don’t need, and
how to pull off an event that makes an impact!
Intimate retreat events have been one of the most powerful drivers in my business over the last nine years, and they are where I can serve my clients most deeply.
Whether you’re a service-based business, are creating something around your brand, or you just want to bring people together - retreats are such a great opportunity.
BUT, there are a lot of misconceptions around events like this, so I want to bust those myths so you don’t get in over your head and expect a different result.
Let’s get to the show!
In this episode, I chat about:
This retreat was an opportunity for me to bring together the group of women that I have been working with, some for the past year!, in person to build on that connection and community, to do some more direct coaching in a way that can only be done in-person, to network, and just to CELEBRATE all of the growth that these Mavericks have experienced, even in the midst of a pandemic.
And it went incredibly well.
There were so many lightbulb moments that happened at this retreat.
When you have a smaller, more intimate event, you have the opportunity to really understand what your people are walking through and you can help them course correct and realign so quickly vs. when you are attending a conference and just having information continually fed to you without the opportunity to personalize and implement and reflect. This is why retreats are SO powerful.
I love doing these events. I am very introverted, but I save up my energy for in-person events like this where I can really make a huge impact.
We had an amazing time in Scotsdale, and we couldn’t have pulled it off without all of the prior planning and prep work that went into it.
There are so many facets to an in-person event, and I’m excited to share my take on all of it with you.
