The Productivity Hack That Works for Everyone!
I was so sick of always feeling behind or stressed with my to-do list.
This is going to sound so simple stupid easy to do, but it’s also so simple stupid easy NOT to do…
Pretty much all of 2017 I felt like I was spinning my wheels. I was working a lot, spending a lot of TIME, but not yielding the results I ultimately wanted. I felt like I was doing a crappy job being a present mother and wife and it wasn’t even because I was crushing it in my business more than ever… I was just OFF. I always felt behind and stressed.
So this is the year of moving the needle! Already with only one month behind us I’ve already been so much more productive, less stressed and more present in whatever I’m doing.
So what’s the big difference maker?
My to-do list. I’ve always used one, but this one simple tweak has made all of the difference! Each day as I’m about to close out my work for the day, I spend an extra five minutes creating my to-do list for the next day. But this next part is every-thangggg!
My to-do list is no longer a dumping ground for all of the things I need to accomplish in no particular order. I only allow SIX total things in my work to-do list and SIX things in my other to-do list and order them very specifically (this is key!). I also add an affirmation at the top of my list for the day to get myself in the right headspace for making big things happen.
The three things that I want to do the LEAST go FIRST! And I’m not allowed to get to the next set of three items before I crush the first three.
Why is this one little change making such a difference in my productivity?
Because I’m eliminating the opportunity to dwell on the things I don’t want to do or waste time avoiding them and I’m powering through them so they actually get completed. Things used to roll over to my next day’s list every single day and sometimes a task could be avoided for MONTHS until I finally accepted that it was just never getting done.
I taught this to my Time Hackers in my 25th Hour Facebook community and the feedback has blown me away! For more tips like this and other great resources and support, you can join the community for free here: https://elizabethhartke.lpages.co/25th-hour/
Listen, I know this isn't revolutionary, but when was the last time you put this simple idea into practice? Things like this is what sets apart the dreamers from the ones they admire.
