Ep# 173: Are You Set Up for Success?

Elizabeth Hartke

I have a question for you: Are you set up for success?

I have 6 categories that I’m going to walk you through today that are the benchmarks of growing and scaling a business that you need to have a hand on.

I like to have a quarterly reminder pop up on my phone that reminds me to check in on these 6 categories:

  1. Environment

  2. Physiology

  3. Vision

  4. Strategy

  5. Skills

  6. Support

This is going to be one of those episodes that you’re going to want to keep in your pocket to come back and reference!

Environment

We are all surrounded by something in both the physical and energetic sense. Your environment is affecting you, either positively or negatively.

How can you optimize your environment to serve you positively?

  • Is your desk cluttered?

  • Are you comfortable when you’re working?

  • What can you hear while you work?

Physiology

Do you have the brain power, strength, energy, and stamina to perform at your highest level, or do you rely on outside sources (like caffeine) to give you the energy you need to get through the day?

  • How are you moving your body?

  • How are you fueling your body?

Vision

You’re either building a business and a life that’s bringing you closer to your vision, or you’re getting further and further away from it.

  • Is your vision crystal clear?

  • Are you so on fire with it that you couldn't slow yourself down even if you tried?

  • Are you continually tweaking your vision?

Strategy

You have this great vision, but how in the heck are you going to get there?

  • What are the disparities between your vision and your current reality? How can you course correct to start to shift closer to your vision?

Skills

Look at where you want to go and break down the skills that you’ll need to develop as you get closer and closer to your vision.

  • Do you have the skills necessary to get you where you want to go? Or do you need to develop your actual ability level?

Support

Sometimes developing a skill is not done in a vacuum. It’s done by working with a leader who is ahead of you who is helping you and guiding you and holding up a mirror for you.

There are only so many hours in a day, and you can’t do it all. Maybe you need to hire an employee. Maybe you need to hire a coach. Maybe you just need to find a friend who will celebrate with you. Maybe you need to join a community of like-minded business owners.

These 6 categories are a great place to check in and get back on track. Don’t take any of your answers personally, it’s just data and information to help you grow.
