Ep# 174: [Pep Talk] I Don’t Want Anything Handed to Me

I might ruffle a few feathers with this pep talk, but I’m okay with that.

Now, I’m all for celebrating your wins and looking back at how far you’ve come.

This month is Women’s History Month, a month where we look back on our history and celebrate how far we, as women, have come.

But the truth is, I don’t think we need a special day or month to validate how capable we truly are.   

There are places in the world, today, where women are still seen as, and treated as, property. Not human beings, property.

We are so flooded with opportunity in our country. Some of us more than others, for sure! And that has to do with our daily circumstances. But as a whole, in America, we have so much opportunity, every day.

But I never want you to feel like you need to first be validated in order to pursue your calling. If it feels unfair, like you’ll have to work harder to succeed just because you’re a woman, then sister, I hope you choose to work harder.

A lot of people spend time complaining about the cards they were dealt, rather than figuring out the best strategy to play them.
